Walk Across Texas! Walk Across
Texas is a free program from Texas Cooperative Extension. It is an eight
week walking program for teams of eight people, and the goal is to motivate
people to increase their levels of physical activity. The program is conducted
in Dallas and Tarrant Counties during September and October. Click on one of the links below to jump to a section
Steps to Participate Dallas County Kick-Off Event Tarrant County Kick-Off Event Team Registration Form (must be turned into appropriate county office) Instructions for Online Registration The steps to participate are quite easy: -Put together
a team of eight people. Designate a team captain, and determine a team
name. -The team captain will total the teams mileage for the week and enter that on-line each week at http://walkacrosstexas.tamu.edu. Teams will be able to go to the site to compare how their team is doing compared to all the other teams participating in the county. -Well
have a big party at the end of the eight weeks and recognize all the teams
that participated. Kick-off Information At the Kick-off, you can make sure you are properly registered for the program, receive free educational literature and give-away items, sign up for a free weight loss letter series, enjoy some healthy snacks, and log your first mile! It will be a fun-filled morning that will get you and your team motivated to start exercising! Dallas County Kickoff!
